Step-by-Step Tutorial: How to Upgrade a Longwatch VCC/LVE

1. Stop Longwatch Services:

• Navigate to the program files directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Longwatch SQL Scripts.
• Use the shutdown button to stop all Longwatch services. This will back up your configuration database.

2. Launch VCC Install Program:

• Locate the Longwatch setup file and right-click on it.
• Select "Run as administrator" to launch the Longwatch VCC install program.

3. Installation Process:

• On the Longwatch license agreement page, read the license and select "Accept" then click "Next".
• Choose the appropriate installation option - the second option if an LVE is running on the machine, otherwise pick the first option.
• Proceed to the destination location page and click "Next".

4. License Key and Security Settings:

• On the install license key page, select "Use existing license key" and click "Next".
• Configure the background service security settings as needed.

• If upgrading an LVE, confirm the settings on the engine setup page.
• Click "Next" to start the installation process.
• During the upgrade, you will see a database found prompt. Select "Yes" to use the existing configuration database.
