Tutorial: Creating a Paper Rip Effect in Premiere Pro

Materials Needed:

• Two images for the paper rip effect
• Paper rib textures
• Paper textures
• Premiere Pro software

Steps:

1. Import Images and Textures:

   • Import the two images you want to use for the paper rip effect into Premiere Pro.
   • Also, import the paper rib textures and paper textures you will be using for the effect.

2. Initial Setup:

   • Place the first image on the timeline.
   • Move two frames forward and make a cut.
   • Repeat this process two more times for a total of three cuts.
   • Then, go five frames forward and make another cut.

3. Scaling and Adding Textures:

   • Click on the first image and scale it up significantly.
   • Add a paper rib texture to the scaled image.
   • Place one paper rib texture at the bottom of the image and another at the start.
   • Adjust the textures to match the movement of the image.

4. Continuing the Effect:

   • Move eight frames forward and trim the first image.
   • Add a paper texture to the trimmed image and set it to screen.
   • Move two frames forward and add the second image.
   • Create a mask following the texture line of the paper rib.
   • Move two frames again and add a different paper texture.
   • Duplicate the second image and nest them together.
   • Create a mask following the line of the texture.

5. Adding Movement:

   • Move two frames forward, make a cut, and scale the image up to create movement.

6. Repeating Steps:

   • Repeat the same steps from the beginning:
     • Move two frames, make a cut, and repeat this process two more times.
     • Move three frames and reverse the effect to start with the normal image size.
     • Zoom in with each subsequent image.

7. Adding Final Touches:

   • Copy and paste paper rib textures from the start onto the images.
   • Add a paper overlay and change the blend mode to Overlay.
   • Convert the image to black and white.
   • Optionally, add additional elements like scratches overlay for extra effect.

8. Finalizing the Effect:

   • Review the entire sequence to ensure the paper rip effect flows smoothly.
   • Make any necessary adjustments to the timing, scaling, or textures for a polished look.

9. Exporting the Video:

   • Once satisfied with the paper rip effect, export the video in your desired format and resolution.

10. Congratulations!
